Sportsman’s Dinner
Smoker
2007
Sunday 18th March was our annual Sportsmans Lunch in The Goth,
Armadale. Although numbers were slightly down due to cup final &
Mothers Day an excellent enjoyable day was had by all who
attended. Superbly chaired by James Smeaton, the members were
entertained by three unique speakers : D. Campbell, Manager of
Partick Thistle, John Hitchen of Burmese origin and Eric
Davidson master of ryme & comedy. A Big Thanks to White and
Mackay for sponsership, Sherlock for catering, The Goth and all
who donated to the raffle.
Sportman’s
Dinner by Ross Hendrie Once again our Sportsman's Dinner
has been a great success. This was no doubt because of the hard
work put in by a lot of people . From the ladies who served our
meals to the bar staff who kept copious amounts of drink flowing
to us guzzlers. Also Chieftain Jaws and Mrs Chieftain Shona
along with Jim /Alec / Derek /Rusty and others who made it a
great afternoon. Thanks also to three terrific speakers Bobby
Tait / Eric Davidson and Scott Glynn . Gentlemen you had us in
stitches with your stories and humour. Great stuff guys. We
would also like to thank Jackie Cougan who is not only a great
singer but a very good friend of us all. Cheers mate. Last but
not least we want to thank our very special guest Mr Colin Stein
who honoured us by attending our dinner. Colin we are proud to
follow the Dark blue of Scotland as you wore it proudly for us
with distinction. Thanks for you company and we hope you drap in
for a swally anytime we have a meeting or a dinner. We will be
more than delighted to see you again. Well thats about it save
